    Frequently asked questions

    What counts as plagiarism?

Using someone else’s words or ideas without giving them credit, including copying text, close paraphrasing without a citation and reusing your own previously submitted work without permission.

What is a good plagiarism score?

There is no universal rule, but most teachers expect the uncited similarity to be very low. Matches on quotes and common phrases are normal if they are cited correctly.

Does the plagiarism checker store my text?

No. Text is sent securely to our scanning partner only to perform the check and is not added to a public database. See our Privacy Policy.
