This Privacy Policy explains how quillbot AI Tool (“we”, “us”, “our”), available at https://quillbotaitool.com/, collects, uses and protects information when you visit our website and use our online writing tools. By using the website you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

1. Information we collect

Text you submit to the tools. When you use a tool, the text you enter is processed to produce your result. Some tools (such as the word counter and citation generator) run entirely in your browser and never send your text to us. Other tools send your text to our server and to an AI or translation provider (see section 4).

Usage and device data. Like most websites, our server and analytics tools may record technical information such as your browser type, device, pages visited, referring website, approximate location (country or city) and the date and time of your visit.

IP address for fair-use limits. To prevent abuse and keep the tools free, we count how many requests are made each day. We store only a one-way, salted hash of your IP address (or user ID if you are logged in) for up to 24 hours. We cannot use this hash to identify you.

Information you give us. If you contact us, we receive your name, email address and message. If you create an account, we store your username, email address and password (encrypted).

2. How we use information

  • To provide, operate and improve our tools and website.
  • To prevent spam, abuse and excessive automated use.
  • To answer your questions and support requests.
  • To understand how visitors use the website so we can improve it.

3. How long we keep information

Text you submit is not saved to an account. To reduce cost and speed up repeated requests, a result may be temporarily cached on our server for up to 6 hours, after which it is deleted automatically. Your tool history (for example, recent paraphrases and your bibliography) is stored only in your own browser’s local storage and can be cleared at any time with the “Clear” buttons or by clearing your browser data. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and for our records.

These providers process your text under their own terms. Under some providers’ free service tiers, submitted content may be reviewed or used to improve their services. For this reason, please do not enter sensitive personal information (such as ID numbers, passwords, financial or health details) into our tools.

Google AdSense. We may display ads served by Google and its partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
